Our Head of Digital Marketing ran the Brighton Marathon to support the fight against male suicide!

Our today’s story is about our Head of Digital Marketing, Gilles Catteeuw. A week ago, Gilles combined two of his passions, running and supporting mental health actions, and ran the Brighton Marathon Weekend while fundraising and raising awareness for Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), a charity standing against male suicide. We decided to donate to his fundraising and following his performance.

We can all support Gilles’ fundraising for CALM on the following page: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/orange-sessionhttps://lnkd.in/e6iYzwug

For the last 3 years, I’ve been an active ambassador for the wonderful work that CALM is doing. With 125 lives lost weekly to suicide and 75% of all UK suicides being male, CALM is on a mission to proactively provoke conversation around male mental health and subsequently prevent suicide. They resonate with me as they say it how it is, in a way that blokes can relate to!

Be Very You Campaign – CSR Employee engagement activities

At Editec, we nurture a work environment where passion and business find the perfect breeding ground. Beyond being our incredible employees, our people are innovative, passionate, entrepreneurial and self-driven human beings. As a part of our Employees Engagement Programme, we aim to support them as individuals and cultivate an environment where they can very be who they truly are.

As a passionate runner, the Brighton Marathon is a great occasion to both raise awareness for CALM as well as set a personal physical goal. In my opinion, running is one of the most effective ways to find mental positivity during challenging times, as well as feel good physically in general! You’ll enjoy that burger and beer ten times more after a good run – what’s not to love?
