The 5-a-side tournament was played by 16 teams from the different communes of the city, with each team battling to make their area the number one in Brazzaville.
As well as pride, there was also cash prizes on the line! Premier Bet and their community department, Premier Projects, awarded the winners of the tournament 600,000F CFA!
A spokesman for Premier Projects said: “Seeing as it’s the end of the year and we are approaching Christmas, we wanted to give something back to the community that would be remembered for a long time.
“Football is the sport of Congo and the passion runs very deep, even in these 5-a-side tournaments. We congratulate the winning team and thank everyone for taking part.”
The tournament was held across the 17-18 December at the Contenair venue.
As well the winners, cash prizes were also rewarded for the teams who finished second and third.
The sides who lost in the first round were also pitted against each other in a runners-up tournament. The winners of that mini-tournament were also rewarded, bringing the total cash given away by Premier Bet to 950,000F CFA.
Earlier in the year, Premier Projects donated essential items to nurses in Congolese hospitals, to say thank you for their efforts during a testing 2020.
The new year promises to be better. Premier Projects will continue to work on community initiatives and give back to the people of Brazzaville.
